Founded in 1954, the National Buildings Organisation (NBO) existed as an attached office under the then Ministry of Works, Housing and Supply. It's main functions were for the collection, analysis and dissemination of housing and building statistics.  Following restructures in 1992 and 2006, the NBO continues to operate under the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs.
