RMJM was established in 1956 by Robert Marshall and Stirrat Johnson-Marshall, with branches in London and Edinburgh. Its first major projects include the construction of New Zealand House, in London, and a series of buildings for the universities of Strathclyde, Edinburgh and Stirling, In the late 1960s, the RMJM began to expand internationally, taking in work in the US, as well Central Asia and the Middle East. Today today remains a major architectural firm, operating on a global scale.
