Kenneth 'Winky' Scott Associates was born in Australia in 1918 and studied architecture at the University of Sydney. After serving in the Second World War, with the British Army, in the Gold Coast, Scott came to the UK, where he completed his RIBA qualifications and worked briefly for Essex County Council. In the late 1940s he moved back to the Gold Coast and, after a period with James Cubitt, established what was to become one of the most significant practices in the Accra region during the 1960s and 70s.
