Nickson and Borys were a prominent architectural practice working in West Africa from the 1950s, with offices in London, Accra, Lagos and Freetown, Sierra Leone. The practice designed a large number of commercial buildings right through into the 1990s, alongside a number of important civic projects. Amongst their most significant works are their central library complex in Accra, their Western House, Lagos (1958), Lungi International Airport (c1960), in Freetown, and their G.P.O. and Municipal Offices (c1962), also in Freetown.
