Clementine Blakemore Architects has received the 2024 Stephen Lawrence Prize for the project Wraxall Yard. Clementine studied in the Intermediate programme at the AA between 2010–12 and was the head of the AA Visiting School programme between 2012–17 and founded her practice in 2016.
The Stephen Lawrence prize is awarded to a project led by an early career architect to celebrate new architectural talent. Wraxall Yard is a sensitively restored dairy farm in Dorset providing inclusive holiday accommodation, a community space, a workshop and an educational smallholding. The brief called for an ambitious renovation of the derelict site that would provide exemplary standards of accessibility and sustainability, without compromising the unique historic and agricultural character of the existing buildings. The project was driven by the belief that everyone should have the opportunity to engage with farming and wildlife.
