An installation by AA alum Armaan Bansal, Daniel Swarilov and Paris Horstmann will be exhibited as part of the V&A Museum’s Friday Late programme for the event Friday Late × Diet Paratha: Legacy in Motion taking place on Friday 28 March from 6.30–10pm.
The installation is a testament to the evolving language of modern Indian design, one that is rooted in craftmanship and is forward-thinking in form and function. The centrepiece of the installation is a modular seating system, designed and manufactured in partnership with Indian craftspeople of Wriver. The seating bridges traditional techniques with a contemporary aesthetic and incorporates natural engineered canvas developed by Outbreak Lab. Brass-cast lotus flowers rest on the Indian cotton by AA alum Danial Swarilov and photographs by Devashish Gaur will encircle the seating, capturing a house in Chandigargh designed by anda_ba, a studio of AA alum Armaan Bansal.
The installation is an invitation to engage in discourse and is a living room for ideas and conversations about India’s evolving design identity.
