AA alumna (2015) and AAVS Terrain Lab Programme Head Elena Longhin has presented the results of her PhD research, titled the Machine in the Mountain, at On Architecture 2021 and at the 14th Conference of the International Forum on Urbanism (IFoU) From Dichotomies to Dialogues – Connecting Discourses for a Sustainable Urbanism held at TUDelft.
Longhin presented at a lecture at IFoU titled Geographies of (hydro)power, which explored the more-than-urban landscapes of power production and exploitation of natural resources, and was extracted from her PhD research project The Machine in the Mountain.
Within On Architecture 2021. Facing the Future – New Challenges, Longhin’s work received the award in the category Technology and Architecture – Scientific Research and Architectural practice and is currently exhibited at the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts, Gallery of Science and Technology, Belgrade, Serbia.
