AA alumni Hosung Joo and Jingyeong Ryu of Studio_Underbar are one of the winning teams of the 2023–24 Pews and Perches competition by the London Royal Docks. The design competition, which was launched by the Royal Docks Team in partnership with London Festival of Architecture in 2018 has delivered 19 benches since its start. The purpose of the competition is to support the Royal Docks area by making more inviting and accessible spaces through the implementation of small public interventions.

Hosung Joo and Jingyeong Ryu have partnered on a range of voluntary design and research projects across disciplines, as well as actively participating in public design competitions. Their interests lie in the sectors of urban design, landscape architecture and the meeting of culture and community.
