AA alumni Jingru (Cyan) Cheng and Chen Zhan’s short documentary film, ON THE MARGINS, has screened at the opening of the third International Architecture and Ethnography Seminar following the keynote by the renowned anthropologist Tim Ingold, and is featured at the exhibition Crisis in Santiago, Chile, October 2022.
The short film is part of their on-going collaborative project RIPPLE RIPPLE RIPPLING, a transdisciplinary framework - at the intersection of architecture, anthropology, performance, and filmmaking - that recognises, articulates and communicates the non-discursive, bodily knowledge embedded in the everyday practice of the dissolved household in contemporary rural China.
For the latest update on the current phase supported by the Graham Foundation, please see Jingru (Cyan) Cheng’s KoozArch column, Living with Precarity #4: Situated Imaginaries.
