AA Alumni and IM-A Studio co-founders, Katya Bryskina and Nataly Nemkova, have won the S+T+Arts residency Hungry EcoCities: Humanising Technology Experiments, funded by Europe Horizon 2020, with their Future Protein project.
The proposal focuses on mussels as a sustainable protein source and aims to create a Mussel ID system for food transparency. Additionally, a series of products made from mussel shells will be developed, adding value to this vital marine resource. The selected projects demonstrate a profound commitment to ethical food practices and sustainable approaches, showcasing the potential for art and technology to shape a better future.
During the residency, the project will be developed in collaboration with Studio Other Spaces led by Olafur Eliasson and Sebastian Behmann, Carlo Ratti Associati with Monika Löve and Daniele Belleri, EatThis with Stephan Petermann, Aart van den Bos and Rem Koolhaas. With additional support from KU Leuven institute Leuven.AI, Brno University of Technology and researchers Mendel University in Brno.
