The pop-up gallery ZAO TANG, curated by Local Collective x STIGMA and supported by Arts Council England and Malin + Goetz, launched on Friday 15 October on Portobello Road in London. AA alumni Lisa Chan (AADipl) of Local Collective and Shutian Zhou (AADipl) and Cong Ding (AADipl) of STIGMA have transformed the gallery space into a contemporary bath house hosting six emerging artists, aiming to address the question: ‘what does it mean to be an Asian woman?’.
The curation for the pop-up stems from an ongoing exploration of the intersection between Asian identity, feminism and the cultural charge of Asian bath houses as a ground for social exchange. The exhibition will showcase a wide range of interactive media and is free for all visitors.
The pop-up gallery will be on show from Friday October 15—Saturday October 30. Register your attendance for ZAO TANG here.
