MSSM Associates, a practice co-founded by EmTech alumni Revano Satria, Michel Moukarzel, Pavlos Schizas and Mohammed Makki have been awarded a 2020 Platinum A’Design Award for their project ‘Z Line House’ in Indonesia.

The practice highlighted the way that the design optimises environmental factors through technology, commenting that: ‘The geometry is optimised to control the water flow from the heavy rainfall in tropical climate. The approach was driven through a detailed solar analysis on the structure, with great attentiveness given to the eastern and western facades. The distribution of the facade's openings were heavily contingent on view axes, occupant height, and the uniform distribution of natural light.’
