A group of AA alumni have received an honourable mention in the Alliance for Humanitarian Architecture’s Proposal for Providing Individual Shelters for Evacuation Centres in Japan competition.
The group consists of Agi Permatasari, Allister Low – who make up the design studio OPENHAAUS – Anna Starchenko and Wonho Chi.
Alliance for Humanitarian Architecture aims to generate conversation around increasing levels of natural disasters and ways to provide shelters for those worst affected. The competition asked participants to design a proposal for a private shelter that could be placed inside a school gymnasium during a natural disaster.
