AA alumnus Alvin Huang, (AADRL 2004) and his practice Synthesis Design + Architecture have been awarded the ACADIA 2021 Digital Practice Award of Excellence by the Association for Computer-Aided Design in Architecture. Huang is currently an Associate Professor and Director of Graduate and Post-Professional Architecture at the University of Southern California.

ACADIA is an international network of digital design researchers and professionals that facilitates critical investigations into the role of computation in architecture, planning, and building science, encouraging innovation in design creativity, sustainability, and education. This annual award recognises a general body of work that advances the discipline of architecture through the development and use of digital media.
