Author Annette Fierro’s Architectures of the Technopolis: Archigram and the British High Tech features an epilogue conversation between Theodore Spyropoulos and David Greene on their long-standing collaboration exploring issues of art, architecture and technology between Archigram and Minimaforms.
In the epilogue titled, Technology A Spectral Presence, Annette writes:
‘Rather than try to explicate this current condition myself, in December 2021, I was privileged to have a conversation with David Greene, original member of Archigram, and Theodore Spyropoulos, head of the Design Research Laboratory (DRL) at the Architectural Association (AA). Greene and Spyropoulos have long collaborated on extending some of Greene’s original ideas within Archigram, bringing them into the context of contemporary culture, as well as advanced architectural design thinking and computational techniques. Through Spyropoulos’s investigation of Greene’s work, which has been, and continues to be, deliberately provoked and prompted forward by Greene, this conversation brings further clarity to some of the original ideas of Greene as an Archigram member, as well as revealing how their inherently conceptual nature makes it quite possible to transmute easily into different formal languages. I include the interview in full here…’
