he AA’s Design Research Lab (DRL) programme has been selected as one of the top postgraduate architecture departments in the world by the committee of the Best Architecture Masters (BAM) World Ranking of 2021. The DRL programme, which is led by Theodore Spyropoulos, was ranked seventh overall and first among non-university departments.

Encompassing 22 master’s degree courses at institutions across the globe, the BAM ranking is selected through an annual comparative study of architecture graduate programmes, and is validated by an expert committee of professors from leading universities, drawing on the present edition of the QS World Ranking by Subjects – Architecture/Built Environment list, the Design Intelligence Rankings and The Guardian University Guide.
