As architect and cofounder of House of Bricoleurs, Albane Duvillier has been selected to be part of SHAPE, a programme to support new built environment entrepreneurs that are in the process of being established and want to create change.
House of Bricoleurs work with the existing: landscapes, living beings, materials and buildings, and consider environmental and social justice issues to be interconnected. They explore sustainable methods of construction to support collective projects and have a hands-on approach to construction. Their expertise in materials and heritage allows them to expand the architect role and reclaim a technical understanding of building life cycles.
SHAPE is organised by Built by Us, an award-winning built environment team who strive to increase diversity in the leadership of the built environment sector, particularly seeking to nurture traditionally under-looked and under-served talent. This includes women, the Global Majority, people from Black, Asian and minority ethnic backgrounds, disabled people, LGBTQIA+ people and people who face socio-economic disadvantage.
