The AA has nominated undergraduate Sini Dojaka and postgraduate Thomas Faulkner for this year’s Architects’ Journal Student Prize.

Dojaka’s project, In-between the Grid: Housing in the Gaps of Barcelona Blocks, aims break up repetition by offering a way to experience the everyday more consciously, challenging the rules of the grid and essentially creating ‘the unfamiliar’.

Faulkner’s project, The Art of Getting By: From Domestic Abuse to Social Housing, responds to the rise in domestic abuse due to lockdowns and the increase of home working post-pandemic and asks how architecture can support recovery after abuse.
