DOMOTEX festival 2021 has been launched with a number of projects by notable designers that prominently feature innovative use of flooring materials. Diploma 8 tutor Spela Videcnik and her firm OFIS Architects were featured with “La casa del desierto”, a 20-square-meter pavilion in Andalusia made of special solar control glass. The floorto- ceiling glazed “walls” are moored between the foundation and the roof, each of which is constructed of wooden cassettes, with mirrored panels on the facades to reflect the surroundings. The floor is covered with narrow and elongated panels made of larch wood, which lead beyond the room into the open air, thus seamlessly connecting indoors and outdoors.

DOMOTEX will take place in Hamburg in January 2021, with the theme 'Cover New Ground'
