Teresa Stoppani (AA HTS and LU tutor) has been interviewed for the Columbia GSAPP Historic Preservation Podcast series. In ‘Unorthodox Analysis’, Stoppani speaks with Andrew Dolkart, faculty in GSAPP’s Historic Preservation Program and with the Program Director Jorge Otero-Pailos in advance of her Fall 2019 lecture at the school.
Teresa Stoppani is an architect and architectural theorist, and lectures in History and Theory Studies at the Architectural Association in London. Stoppani’s writings focus on the relationship between architectural theory and the design process in the urban environment.
In the interview they discuss her recent book, Unorthodox Ways to Think the City, in which she argues that architecture and its processes can be better understood by drawing categories from disciplines that exceed the architectural and the urban, proposing them as unorthodox analytic techniques to decipher contemporary spatial complexity and conflicts.
The interview is now available in the Historic Preservation Program Podcast Series (#19)
