The work of Verity-Jane Keefe, unit tutor for Experimental 2, is currently featured in the RIBA exhibition Lived in Architecture at the Architecture Gallery at 66 Portland Place, London, for her work on the Becontree Estate. The free exhibition will run until Saturday 12 February with a variety of works on show from RIBA’s collection.
Keefe’s project, titled Becontree at 100, consists of a film and a series of spatial and decorative works that capture the essence and architectural nuances of the Becontree estate – formerly the largest example of social housing in Europe. The project explores the journey of material adaptations that have become commonplace in the estate and how they reflect wider changes within society.
