AA tutors Ila Bêka and Louise Lemoine, who teach Diploma 16, have opened a new exhibition of their film work at Arc en rêve d’Architecture, Bourdeaux, France. The show is titled Homo Urbanus, and follows of the themes of their teaching with Diploma 16, Homo Urbanus: a Laboratory for Sensitive Observers. The exhibition features 10 hours of documentary footage in 10 different cities, exploring the relationship between humans and the built environment.
Ila and Louise commented:
“After the trying constraints of lockdown and social distancing that brutally reduced urban space to its strict minimum, making it into a place where isolated individuals merely cohabit, Homo Urbanus is a cinematic odyssey offering a vibrant tribute to what we have been most cruelly deprived of: namely, public space.”
