Elif Erdine, Head of the Emergent Technologies and Design taught postgraduate programme at the AA, has been appointed as a judge of a new international contest that challenges participants to reimagine Cappadocia in Turkey as an ‘eco-district’ featuring low-impact and earthquake-resistant buildings alongside networks of walking routes, agricultural infrastructure and exploratory spaces.
The competition is titled Reimagining Cappadocia as an Eco District, and is organised by the GAD Foundation and supported by Indigo Group. Erdine’s fellow judges include David Basulto, Ayako Ezaki, Ferda Kolatan and Zoë Ryan, and the competition is open to young professionals under the age of 35 who hold a degree in architecture studies.
