Claire Potter’s prose poem, Moths That Fly by Night, is one of five shortlisted poems for the prestigious Peter Porter Poetry award offered by the Australian Book Review. This year the award received 1171 poetry entries from 21 countries. Potter’s poem has been shortlisted alongside The Orphan by Sarah Day, Hook, Grandmother, Line, Marlin by Jennifer Harrison, Notes from a Room by Audrey Molloy and The Vastness of What Poetry Can Do by Meredith Stricker.
Alongside her teaching at the AA, Potter is author of four poetry collections, Acanthus (Giramondo, 2022), Swallow (Five Islands, 2010), N’ombre (Vagabond, 2007) and In Front of a Comma (Poets Union, 2006), as well as a number of essays and translations.
