Congratulations to two AA students, Ella Adu and Aude Tollo, who have joined the Architecture Foundation's 2021 cohort of 'New Architecture Writers' (NAW). NAW is a free programme for emerging design writers from black and minority ethnic backgrounds who are under-represented across design journalism and curation. The programme offers evening workshops, talks and one-to-one mentorship with leading architectural critics and design editors.
Ella Adu is currently studying on the Diploma Programme, her research interests include include placemaking in the context of the diaspora, with a focus on projections of Caribbean culture and musical production in the city. Aude Tollo is currently studying on the Experimental Programme, she is interested in West African fractal design and the philosophy that lies beyond it. Previous cohorts of the NAW have included AA students Thomas Aquilina and Aoi Phillips, who went on to form the collective Afterparti with their fellow NAW members.
