About the AA School of Architecture
The Architectural Association (AA) School of Architecture is an internationally recognised, independent architecture school based in Bedford Square, London, and Hooke Park, Dorset. These two campuses support a wide range of academic and public programmes.
With a student body and staff drawn from around the world, and through the internationally recognised Public Programme and Visiting School’s global short courses, the AA maintains a strong international presence.
As an independent institution, the AA is governed democratically. Members – including students and staff – vote on key decisions, such as electing the School Director or approving significant institutional changes. This structure encourages active participation in shaping the AA’s direction and promotes a strong sense of community ownership.
