
The University of the Philippines was founded in 1908, with premises in Manila and Los Banos. In 1949 the majority of the university re-locate to Quezon City, where the UP Diliman campus became the main hub. Today the University of the Philippines comprises 8 autonomous, constituent universities, across 17 campuses. The School of Fine Arts was one of the earliest established of the UP's academic programmes, having been founded in 1909.
