Peter Marcel De Souza, was born in Myanmar in January 1929, travelling to the UK with his architect father, Walter Edward De Souza, in 1931. He received a BA from Cambridge University before attending the Architectural Association, London from 1953-55, where he received Diploma Honours. As part of his final year’s studies, De Souza joined the first cohort of the newly formed AA Department of Tropical Architecture (DTA). After graduation, he is recorded as working for the practice of Stillman and Eastwick-Field, based in Dean Street, London. By the late 1960s De Souza appears to have set up his own practice in Henley-on-Thames in the late 1960s, continuing to work until his death in 1992.
