AA Alumni of History and Critical Thinking in Architecture 2021–22, Juan Campanini and Josefina Sposito, have been invited to present a reinterpretation of the Mexico City landscape, On the other side: Façade on Dr. Erazo Street. Rather than a uniform and indivisible city, Campanini and Sposito propose a fragmented fabric constructed of distinct and recognisable parts. The intervention will take place along LIGA’s front façade, mediating its street-facing elevation and internal gallery wall behind. The distance between the cityscape and observer is abstracted through a technical illusion that frames the observer’s gaze towards a new urban front within the gallery. LIGA Space for Architecture is an independent platform based in Mexico City. It promotes Latin American contemporary architecture through exhibitions, conferences and workshops.
On the other side: Façade on Dr. Erazo Street opens on Thursday 7 September, 7pm.
