AA Grant Writer Sally Stott will be reviewing the Edinburgh Festival Fringe for the Scotsman and Scotland on Sunday newspapers from Friday 1 August – Monday 25 August 2025. She will be covering theatre, comedy, physical theatre, dance, musicals and children’s shows. While architecture does not have its own section in the Fringe Programme, it’s an important part of the Festival – from the shows experimenting with structure, time and space to the gothic buildings, ancient caves and modern-day conference rooms that they take place in to the 'festival map' as a temporary layer that, every year, covers this multi-layered and multi-level city.
Alongside writing daily reviews for the Scotsman, Stott is one of the judges for the Fringe First Awards for new writing at the festival and writes long-form thematic round-up shows every week in Scotland on Sunday. The shows that Stott selects to see often share themes and agendas with the brilliant academics, students and admin staff that she works with, throughout the year, at the AA.
All of Sally’s coverage of this year’s festival will be published on her page on the Scotsman website, along with her writing from last year’s Festival, which is available to read now.
