Now You Know is a new publication by non-profit platform Sound Advice, which brings together insights, reflections and tips from 60 practitioners of colour within the built environment industry to challenge spatial and racial inequality. The book encompasses essays, poems, interviews and comments, each accompanied by a piece of advice and a song. Several members of the AA community contributed to Now You Know, including students Aude Grace Yiwalow Tollo, Ifeoluwasimi Nora Somefun, Jabir Mohamed, Richard Adetokunbo Aina and Vivian Gbemisola Olawepo, and tutors Akil Scafe-Smith, Bushra Mohamed and Manijeh Verghese.
Sound Advice is a platform exploring spatial inequality. Mixing social commentary and music, it offers a space to debate provocative issues and advise on how to make change through advice linked to tunes, and is co-hosted by urbanists Pooja Agrawal and Joseph Henry. In February 2021, Sound Advice contributed to A New Model for Recognition, part of the New Models lecture series within the AA Public Programme.
