The Universidad Nacional de Ingeniería, Lima, Peru, was founded in 1876 initially as a school for civil engineering and mining. It was the first such engineering school in Peru and, after reforms carried out c1910, an architectural construction department was created. A new campus was developed in the 1940s and the school renamed as a university in 1955.
