A Technical School was set up in Boston, Massechusetts, following the 1903 donation of an estate worth an estimated $7 dollars by Boston businessman Arioch Wentworth. Its doors opened to students in 1911 and architecture and construction related courses were included as part of the earliest programs. Following the end of World War II, a two-year associate degree program in Architectural Construction, later called Architectural Engineering Technology (AET) was established, and in 1972 a two-year BSc in Architectural Engineering Technology (BAET) was created as an extension to the AET associate degree. During the late 1980s a 5 year professional Architecture degree was introduced and was granted full degree accreditation in 1992.
