Khoon Lan Teng is recorded as a Malaysian student enrolled in the Architectural Association’s Department of Tropical Architecture post-graduate course of 1958-1959. She had previously qualified as an architect at the Northern Polytechnic, on Holloway Road, London. On completion of the Tropical course, Teng appears to have moved back to Malaysia, where she is noted as a member of the Federation of Malaya Society of Architects in 1962, and by 1965 was based in Penang.
