E.F.H. Foster attended the Architectural Association’s postgraduate course with the Department of Tropical Architecture in 1957-58. He is noted as attending ‘lectures only’ and so was not eligible to receive the Tropical Department Certificate upon graduating. Very little is known regarding Foster’s background or subsequent career but someone sharing his initials and surname was employed as an architectural assistant for the British Overseas Airways Corporation, on the Dakar line, in 1946, and was later employed by their Civil Engineers’ architectural staff, responsible for the interior of the B.O.A.C. Showroom, Regents Street, London in 1954, the B.O.A.C. Recruitment Centre, London Airport in 1959.
