Carlos Barroilhet Valdivieso was born in Chile in 1936 and attended El Colegio de los Sagrados Corazones de Valparaíso-Viña del Mar, before studying architecture at the Universidad Católica de Valparaiso. In September 1963 he is recorded as enrolling on the post-graduate, six-month course run by the Architectural Association’s Department of Tropical Studies, in London. Following his graduation, he appears to have returned to Valparaiso. Little is known to us regarding his subsequent career but he appears to have had a successful architectural practice based in the Valparaiso region.
