Malcolm Nathan joined the Architectural Association as a 4th Year student in 1954 and chose to take the Department of Tropical Architecture course as part of his 5th Year studies the following year. After graduating with AA Diploma Honours, Nathan returned to Johannesburg, South Africa, his home country, where he is recorded as working for Anthony O. Endres, from 1956, and then for Marshall and McLaren Streets from 1959 until at least 1969.
