Architect and DesignAware director, Takbir Fatima, was invited to exhibit as part of the exhibition Samatva: Shaping the Built for the first India Art, Architecture and Design Biennale which was held at the Red Fort in Delhi. The event was inaugurated from 8–15 December 2023 and the exhibition will continue till the end of March 2024. Takbir’s work is exhibited alongside 80 women architects who have contributed to the built environment in India in various ways. For more details on the biennale, click here.

In addition, DesignAware were commissioned to design an experimental installation titled HeliX which is permanently placed at Red Fort. Learning from traditional rattan and locally-sourced cane and using digital design, the installation is derived from a helicoid to create a complex geometry where cane members rotate at incremental angles between consecutive turns. The geometry combines generative AI technology and collaborative design between DesignAware and skilled craft persons.
