Women in Architecture (WIA) reformed in 2018 following the production of the documentary, She Draws: She Builds, directed by WIA Vice-Chair Sarah Akigbogun and produced by former WIA Chair Anna Schabel. Since then, WIA has expanded its outreach online and helped promote women architects at events throughout the UK and abroad. The mentoring programme, which started in 2022, is a key part of this.

AA First Year tutor Michela has been selected as one of the mentors for the 2024 WIA Mentorship Programme. Michela is an architect and educator who has worked as an architect in internationally renowned practices including Shigeru Ban, UN Studio and Zaha Hadid Architects where she specialised in design of complex geometry. Michela also teaches Interior and Spatial Design at Buckinghamshire University and curates the web platform Experimental Architecture.
