The AA is deeply saddened by the news of the devastating earthquake in Turkey and Syria this week. The AA supports all our students and staff affected by the devasting earthquake in Turkey and Syria. During times of tragedy and distress AA students have always shown a level of care and resilience to those in need and suffering around the world. The response of our students to the natural disaster that has impacted so many throughout Turkey and Syria is another example of this compassion and support towards their fellow citizens.
Students have initiated a series of events and donation drives to raise money for those in need and to collect items to send to people and families who have lost their homes and belongings due to the earthquake.
Donation Drive
Clothes, sanitary products, food and medicines, donated by students, staff and the public, have been collected and sent to those in need through the Turkish Ministry of Interior Disaster and Emergency Management (AFAD).
Bake Sale
A Bake Sale has been organised by students, which will take place Tuesday 14 February from 10am–8pm in the AA Front Members Room (36 Bedford Square, London WC1B 3ES). Please help support those in Turkey and Syria by coming to the Bake Sale; your generosity be helping those without basic shelter, sanitation, clean water and sustenance is needed. Any donation amount is appreciated, and all profits will be given to the British Red Cross.
