Peter Krippl was born in Switzerland in 1937 and gained a Masters degree in Architecture and Engineering in 1964. He travelled to the UK and enrolled in the 1966-67 postgraduate ‘General Design’ course run by the Architectural Association’s (AA) Department of Development and Tropical Architecture, in London. He appears to have spent some time in Micronesia before settling in Hawaii by in 1968, where he worked initially for Alexander & Baldwin. He was then employed by the Wailea Land Corporation as a Manager in 1971 and promoted to Director of Planning and Design by 1973. He subsequently moved to the US and became a naturalised citizen in 1986. His career continued within the field of land development, taking up a role with International Resort Developers, a company based in La Jolla, California, from at least 1989. He passed away in Zurich, Switzerland, in 2012.
