Mohan Kainth is recorded as an Indian student enrolled on the postgraduate course run by the Architectural Association’s Department of Tropical Studies, in London. Kainth was registered on the Department’s ‘General Course’ for the 1964-65 session and was subsequently awarded the AA Diploma in Tropical Studies. In 1955, prior to attending the AA, Kainth had joined the Town and Country Planning Association, at the Ministry of Health, New Delhi, as a Town Planning Officer, Grade III. In 1968, following his return from the AA, Kainth was promoted to Associate Town and Country Planner, rising up through the ranks to Architect Planner in 1979 and then joint Chief Town and Country Planner in 1981. He retired from service in 1983
