Arunkumar Krishnarao Kotnis is recorded as an Indian student enrolled in the 1964-65 postgraduate course run by the Architectural Association’s Department of Tropical Studies, in London. He had previously attended the Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda, in Vadodara, India, graduating with a B.Arch. (Dist). Following his studies at the AA Kotnis, took a Postgraduate Diploma at Leeds School of Town Planning and joined the Northampton Borough Council as an Urban Designer in the 1970s, later becoming Assistant Head of Planning, followed by Head of Design and Conservation.
