Servio Tulio Tervoindt Ferrer was born in Venezuela and studied at the Central University of Venezuela, graduating in 1965. He appears to have moved almost immediately into academia, taking up a position as professor at his alma mater by 1968. In 1970, however, he enrolled on postgraduate programme run by the Architectural Association’s (AA) Department of Development and Tropical Studies, in London. He was tutored by Hartmut Schmetzer and duly graduated in the summer of 1971. He returned to his role as a professor at the Central University of Venezuela, where he has continued to teach throughout his career. Amongst his published works are Diseñoterapia (1980) a humorous examination of some of the common problems faced by architectural students, and Paradigmas Internos En La Arquitectura (2019), an analysis of subconscious ideas and paradigms within architectural design. Alongside teaching, Ferrer has worked in design, planning, construction, urban planning and architectural marketing. Amongst his most significant projects is the Corimon Centre. in the El Bosque Industrial Estate, Valencia, Carabobo state - designed in collaboration with Yolanda Lorenz, Luisa López, and Cristina Apitz (1993). This project used the experimental SIEMA System produced by the Institute for Experimental Development of Construction.
