Azriel Sadur gained a Bachelor’s degree in architecture at the University of Cape Town, before setting up his own practice in South Africa in 1953. He is recorded as arriving in the UK in January 1957 and enrolling at the Architectural Association’s Department of Tropical Architecture post-graduate course. Following graduation, Sadur was employed by Basil Spence, working on a number of his projects, including the Chemistry Building at Southampton University (1962). He subsequently returned to South Africa where he developed a significant practice in Parktown, Johannesburg by the early 1990s, employing 20 staff and operating under the name of Graff Kruger Sadur Associates.
