K. Frey is recorded as a student enrolled on six-month, post-graduate course at the Architectural Association (AA) Department of Tropical Architecture in 1959/60. The AA student register states that Frey was attending ‘lectures only’ indicating he was not eligible to receive the Tropical Certificate at the completion of the course. The AA Membership List of 1961 provides a home address for him as care of the Department of Works, Darwin, Australia. It is likely that the K. Frey presenting the paper ‘Architectural Conservation in the Tropics’ at a South Australian and Northern Territories Region conference ‘Post Cyclone Action and Historic Structures’ in 1980, is one and the same person.
