Sharaf el din Bushara thought to be an architect of Nubian heritage, from Wadi Halfa (now Sudan). He is recorded as a student enrolled on the 1965-66 ‘Teacher Training’ course at the Architectural Association’s Department of Tropical Studies in 1965-66, successfully completing the course and being formally granted a Certificate in Tropical Studies in January 1967. Following graduation he appears to have worked on the Kaduna masterplan, for Max Lock and Partners, as a Design Assistant for Housing. Details of his subsequent career are not known to us beyond the fact that he designed a low-cost housing project at Hai Al-Hajar (As-Souq Ash-Shac bi), Khartoum, in 1972.
