Founded in 1921, the Royal West of England School of Architecture was established jointly by the Bristol Society of Architects the Royal West of England Academy, Bristol. The School was situated at 25 Great George Street, Bristol, and in 1962 was incorporated into the University of Bristol where it became the new  Department of Architecture. After government funding cuts, the Department was closed by the University.
